Our salt pan is located in the heart of the Castro Marim Nature Reserve, the first Nature Reserve in Portugal. The Castro Marim salt pans have a rich history of salt production dating back to pre-Roman times. The region’s unique climate and topography, combined with the pure waters of the Atlantic, create an ideal and unique environment for salt production. It is in this environment rich in biodiversity that we maintain the tradition of salt production using ancient techniques and knowledge passed down from generation to generation, with a focus on sustainability and respect for the environment. Traditional processes are maintained to minimize the ecological footprint and provide high-quality, mineral-rich salt.
